About the Home

The brief provided by the client was to construct a stunning, contemporary home with a focus on capturing expansive 360 degree views of the Gippsland ranges and beyond. The owners sought to create an impressive, captivating home through contemporary design and quality craftsmanship, both externally and internally.

Given the focus on the views, entry to the home is not through a traditional front door, but rather from the outdoor living space, through bi-fold doors which leads direct into the main living area, showcasing stunning design elements including a raked ceiling rising up to 3.9 metres in height with hi-lite windows to further capture the remarkable views, feature concrete block wall with cantilevered timber bench and floating concrete hearth in front of the in-built wood fire.

The extensive use of craftsmanship ply detailing in the home provides contrast and softens the concrete blockwork and use of tiles throughout the living area. Feature window seats, timber benches lining the family area and a day bed provides multiple vantage points from which the vista can be enjoyed.
