About the Home

The brief provided by the client was to construct a stunning, modern home with a focus on capturing views of the ranges of the Bunyip State Forest. The owners sought to create an impressive, captivating home through contemporary design and quality craftsmanship, both externally and internally.

With a modern take on the traditional pitched roof, the home is viewed externally as three interconnected pavilions. One linear mass accommodates secondary bedrooms and bathroom, with the kitchen and living space set in the middle pavilion of the home. The third pavilion encompasses the main bedroom wing away from remaining bedrooms for extra privacy and seclusion. A cathedral ceiling in the living room expresses the gable roof form internally and creates a sense of space and volume. Framed views of the landscape are a feature, with the main living room showcasing 7.2 metre stacking sliding doors out to the covered alfresco.
